She will do a demo on her process & procedures to bring vibrancy into her work.Toni will also show slides and a video about South Africa which will precede her painting demo. This is the Morro Bay Art Association’s free monthly demo meeting. About Instructor Living along the coast of Southern California has been a great source inspiration for Toni. She has enjoyed capturing subjects such as birds on the beach, sunsets, children building sand castles, dog walkers in the park, the beautiful harbor scenes and land & seascapes. Being born and raised in South Africa has given Toni some insight into the plight of women and children living in the shanty towns and rural villages with their lack of clean running water and the absence of the most basic facilities. Her heart is tender towards children who have been orphaned due to the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. Through her art she has been able to tell their stories and bring awareness to their situations and she supports several organizations that are making an impact at a grassroots level. (See Acres of Love and Wells of Life) Her skills as a painter was honed by taking painting workshops with accomplished artists throughout the country. Now she also enjoys teaching art classes in a local gallery in San Juan Capistrano called MISSION FINE ART GALLERY. Toni has been honored to have her paintings juried into national shows like the California Art Club Gold Medal Show, Oil Painters of America, LPAPA and SOCALPAPA and felt privileged to exhibit her work at the Laguna Festival of Arts in 2017, 2018, 2022. She has done many painting demos for local art associations and has been asked to judge their art competitions.
