Have you ever smelled the grape Kool-aid tree? Or sniffed a fresh bay leaf? Or viewed a tree surrounded by smoke? In honor of Arbor Day on April 25th, docent Faylla Chapman will lead a tour of the trees in the garden, tell their stories, and point out their blooms. It’s amazing how many trees blossom and we don’t really notice them. Trees in the Mediterranean climate are especially beautiful with blooms big and small, white, yellow, pink and purple, and often fragrant. Faylla Chapman is a docent at the Botanical Garden, and she has made the trees in the garden her specialty. Blooming or not, she can tell you their stories and allow you to appreciate them in special ways.
