Nature Sunday: Seaweeds: Nature’s Ocean Garden

In nature, seaweeds can form forests or dainty gardens in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Learn about them, places they are found in the ocean and their multiple uses in a slide presentation and large display of fresh and preserved specimens. There will also be some taste testing of the various edible seaweeds and their products. Faylla Chapman is a marine biologist with a specialty in seaweeds. She has done extensive field work and research on seaweeds and has taught about them in school settings as well as in the field. She occasionally teaches seaweed cooking classes and is often found in the intertidal looking for her favorite specimens.
