‘On a First Name Basis' opens By the Sea Productions 2024 Season
By the Sea Productions opens its 2024 season with a staged reading of 'On a First Name Basis' written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster, and directed by Lisa Woske. This delightful two-person play, filled with witty dialogue, tells the story of David Kilbride (Jim Allen), a successful, self-absorbed novelist who realizes that he knows nothing about his long-time housekeeper, Lucy (Laura Richie). She, on the other hand, knows absolutely everything about him! As Lucy is ending her shift one evening, David invites her to stay for a drink, suddenly curious about the woman who*s been tending his house for 28 years. As the drinks and conversation start to flow, secrets are revealed that are surprising, funny, and ultimately moving.
