SUMMER SCIENCE & ART IN THE GARDEN WEEK: Ages 10 to 14

We’re excited to offer a fun and interactive dive into nature, science and art at the Botanical Garden this summer. During the week of July 22nd through 26th, students will experience different daily explorations into the natural world. Our young scientists will use dissecting tools and microscopes and will document their findings in creative ways. This class will be taught by a team of knowledgeable educators and SLO Botanical Garden docents. Arrival time is 10:00 and by noon, they’ll leave with their minds full of interesting new knowledge and a smile on their face. Some topics include – a deep dive into flowers and pollination, scat (what’s that?!), native birds, using your five senses in the garden, soil investigation, how to take cuttings of plants to make new ones, and Chumash art and culture. Please note: If your child can’t attend the whole week but wants to join in the fun, they can sign up for a single day for $25 each day. Please email Jen at jen@slobg.org to make special arrangements and also reach out if your family could benefit from a partial scholarship. We hope to see you there! Register via slobg.org
